Many organisations fail to realise the costs that can be saved by carrying out a simple review of their water consumption and billing.
Our water consultancy team has many years of experience identifying and implementing water-related cost reductions. Our service is entirely performance related: if we do not make any savings, we receive no fee, ensuring a robust, risk-free offering.
Our water consultancy service consists of four key stages.
STAGE 1: FREE health check
A free desktop audit of water supply invoices and third party charges is conducted to highlight any potential savings. Our in-depth data analysis identifies historic overcharges and highlights billing errors, either due to miscalculation, incorrect tariff charges or simple anomalies. We also pinpoint accounts that may require further investigation, for example, if usage or discharge appears to be higher than expected for the size and nature of the supply.
Identified savings or refunds are reported to the customer, who can then enter into a fee arrangement or performance-based shared savings agreement.
STAGE 2: Site survey and report
An in-depth site survey is carried out and a detailed report is produced that provides:
- details of all metered and unmetered water supply points, trade effluent and other associated wastewater
- a full breakdown of all annual water, wastewater and sundry charges currently paid
- a full assessment of all areas of use e.g. cooling towers, swimming pools, industrial processes
- feasibility assessments for the implementation of environmental savings e.g. rainwater harvesting or grey water reuse
- notification of any potential undercharges, illegal discharges or by-law discrepancies
- on-going efficiency and cost saving recommendations.
STAGE 3: Implementation
A water cost savings plan is developed to rectify any issues and implement any recommendations highlighted in the report. We will then project manage any recommendations with as little or as much involvement as required by the customer.
STAGE 4: Ongoing relationship
Our consultants continually review the ever-changing marketplace and have regular contact with the Consumer Council for Water and OFWAT. This ensures we can keep our customers up-to-date with charging schemes across the UK, relevant legislation and opportunities for further savings.
