Air conditioning (AC) is a necessary requirement for the modern built environment whether it is for occupant comfort or used to maintain controlled areas for manufacturing processes, food processing, leisure centres or medical facilities.
Traditional AC solutions are designed to deliver cooling only or heating and cooling but this does not meet the true meaning of air conditioning or occupancy comfort.
Comfort is achieved when both temperature and humidity are controlled to the required levels, ideally 24oC and 50% relative humidity (RH). This optimum solution is not always provided for occupants as it is expensive to run and often difficult to achieve. For processes optimum solution can be maintained at significant energy consumption and cost.
As AC units dry the air, they waste enormous amounts of energy overcooling it in an attempt to remove moisture, then warming it up again to a level where people feel more comfortable. This AC cycle is extremely wasteful and is repeated for every design air change per hour. Where an AC plant runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this amounts to significant energy use, cost and CO2 emissions.
ENER-G’s new technology is a breath of fresh air
At ENER-G we can provide a solution that not only meets comfort criteria but uses between 30% and 50% less energy. At a time when energy is increasingly expensive and carbon reduction is a business essential, ENER-G’s “naturally efficient” air conditioning solution provides a cost effective, greener and a more effective method to dehumidify, cool and heat the built environment.
What is naturally efficient air conditioning?
Energy saving is at the heart of the system. This is achieved by passing the unconditioned air through natural salt solution which cools and dries the air in one step. In this way the air leaves the unit at the temperature and humidity required with no need for overcooling or subsequent re-heat.
Developed by ENER-G’s partner Advantix, the DuCool system provides a reliable, cost effective and advanced AC solution for a wide range of buildings.
We deliver comprehensive technical advice at the design stage and life cycle support through our online monitoring systems.
