ENERGOS is planning to build a new renewable energy facility at Knowsley Business Park. The proposed facility will use proven and environmentally responsible Norwegian gasification technology to generate green electricity for up to 10,000 homes and heat for local industry from non-recyclable waste.

The planning application for the facility, which would be a centre of international excellence for green waste management, has been submitted to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council. The plans can be viewed at the council offices and the Non-Technical Summary of the planning application can be downloaded here.
The plant in Knowsley would take two years to build and it would be the second advanced conversion (ACT) plant built in the UK. Information on further developments will be available on the web site soon.
