ENER-G Switch2 as an Energy Services Company (ESCO) works is partnership with the public and private sector to develop community heating schemes.
ENER-G Switch2 develops, finances and operates complete community heating solutions for homes, commercial and industrial buildings. From small schemes supplying 20 or 30 properties to large district heating (DH) schemes supplying thousands of homes, we deliver the suitable solution for all needs. Our sustainable solutions are suitable for both new build and refurbished schemes.
Working in partnership with our customers, we reduce emissions whilst adding value to their investment and saving our customers money. We incorporate the latest technological advances to all our projects for our customers’ benefits. Combined heat and power (CHP) systems can be incorporated in the ENER-G Switch2 community heating solutions providing heat and electricity from a single fuel at high efficiency. These solutions achieve energy and carbon savings under the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH). Projects can also include the retrofit or new build of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
We offer a complete solution to our customers. As an ESCO contractor we will design, install, finance, operate and maintain the heating centre (potentially CHP plant) on site. As part of the contract we supply heat and power to the scheme at agreed rates. We may also take responsibility for fuel purchase and for other on-site energy plant. We also offer metering, control and billing services with various payment options.
Under a typical ESCO contract ENER-G Switch2 covers the initial capital investment therefore owns the project, and then operates the heating plant taking on the long term risk of energy provision. From a financing point of view, the basis of an agreement of this type is the transfer of the capital and operating costs, together with all the technical and operating risks of the plant, from the end-user to us, as the ESCO contractor.
