Information, information, information
Managing anything requires information. Accurate, regular data is key to successfully managing energy use. After all, if you don’t know how much energy is being used how can you tell if it’s being wasted?
The heart of Virtual Energy Manager is its data - automatically reported by each site, this data contains meter readings from utility meters such as gas, electricity and water plus operating data from the building energy management system (BEMS). Held securely in a database this information is then available for analysis and review.
Where sites are small or have no BEMS installed meter data can still be reported and by using e-mail and SMS technology Virtual Energy Manager ensures timely and accurate data is held on every site.
The data held about each site can be easily queried allowing users to compare performance over time, e.g. year on year or to compare buildings to other buildings and areas to other areas.
A powerful reporting tool uses Excel to enable tailor-made reports to be created from data within Virtual Energy Manager.
