The 300kW generator is targeted at smaller landfill sites that until now have been considered too small to be commercially viable.
The unit is containerised and fully portable by road. This means that we can offer units for sale or for hire over a five-year term and so we can provide a generating capacity even when it is expected that landfill gas levels will fall in the near future.
The engines are well suited for old closed landfills which fall into the criteria listed below:

This is a rough guide. Other factors such as an existing gas field or electrical connection will make a difference to the costs of any project and may mean that a site not meeting these criteria in full will still be viable.
They can also be ideally utilised on sites, which have existing 1MW units and are flaring off surplus gas, the energy potential can be enhanced in increments of 300kW. Similarly if a 1MW unit is operating below capacity, one or more of the 300kW units can replace it.
The development of this new generator has opened up new opportunities for landfill site operators. It is ideally sized to provide site power for leachate treatment plants and offers site operators the opportunity to manage their landfill gas obligations at a greatly reduced cost and, by displacing the need for conventional power generation, in a more environmentally friendly way.
